White Oil Refurbisher

Care and Cleaning

Over the years, it is inevitable that the parquet flooring will become increasingly dirty, particularly in high-traffic areas. However, oiled floors allow you to carry out either spot repairs or a thorough, comprehensive clean covering a large area.

The so-called ‘oil wash’ eliminates the need for sanding in this process. With our Oil Refurbisher and a polishing machine, dirt doesn’t stand a chance. Not only is this process dust-free, but it can also be repeated as often as required over the years.

Of course, oil washing also works wonderfully by hand on small areas or for spot cleaning when a full clean isn’t necessary.

Application is this simple

Substrate and preparation
The substrate must be dry (wood moisture content max. 14 per cent) and free from dirt and grease. Clean using LEINOS Vegetable Soap 930 (wipe with a damp cloth). Rinse with clean water. Allow the floor to dry thoroughly. The floor temperature during application must be at least 16 °C.

Processing
Stir thoroughly before use! Apply the Oil Refurbisher evenly and in a thin layer using a short-pile floor mop. After 15–20 minutes, remove any excess oil and polish the surface with a white pad. Heavily worn and faded, dull surfaces must be treated a second time with Oil Refurbisher. Heavily worn, stressed surfaces can also be treated with Hardwax Oil 290 be treated. Carry out a preliminary test! Ensure there is adequate fresh air circulation during application and drying!

Oil wash: Depending on the degree of soiling and the absorbency of the wood, apply 100–200 ml/m² evenly. Then use a green pad to loosen the dirt and carefully wipe it away with a rubber squeegee or similar tool. Depending on the level of soiling, this soiled solution can be reused approximately 2–3 times on the adjacent area. Once the floor area of a room has been cleaned, wipe it down thoroughly once more with a white pad until no residue remains. To achieve a uniform surface finish, after a drying time of approx. 24 hours, Oil Refurbisher can be applied very thinly, drop by drop, using a white polishing pad. Carry out a test application first!

Drying time
Dry after 6–12 hours (20 °C, relative humidity 50–55 per cent); ready for sanding and recoating. Floors can be used with care after 1 day. Full use after 7–14 days. This system requires atmospheric oxygen to dry. Therefore, ensure good ventilation; if the air is stagnant, use a fan, for example (also to prevent odours from developing).

Consumption
Consumption and coverage depend on the absorbency of the surface and the intended use. Maintenance: approx. 30–40 ml/m². Oil cleaning: approx. 100–200 ml/m². Determine the exact consumption on site.
