Substrate and preparation
The substrate must be dry, sound, clean, free from grease and dust, and absorbent. Completely remove any old varnish and emulsion paint coatings. Wood that has already turned grey should, where possible, be sanded down to the sound wood or pre-treated with LEINOS Anti-Greying Fluid 940. Allow pressure-treated wood to weather for one to two months and remove any salt efflorescence where present.
Processing
Painting. Do not apply at temperatures below 10 °C and stir well before use. Apply a thin, even coat. Avoid the formation of puddles.
Drying time
At 20°C and moderate humidity, it is dry after 6–8 hours and can be painted over after 16–24 hours.
Consumption
Approx. 50–70 ml/m² per application; this may vary depending on the absorbency of the substrate. Coverage: approx. 13–23 m²/l. Determine the exact consumption on site.
Colours
LEINOS Terrace Wood Oil is available in three shades as standard: colourless, reddish and brownish.
