LEINOS products... and their raw materials

Selection of raw materials

All the statistics prove it: Allergies are constantly on the rise. This is why more and more consumers are specifically looking for products that are made from natural and ecologically safe raw materials, but also fulfil their high quality requirements. Our most important decision criteria when selecting raw materials are therefore highest possible human compatibility, very good environmental compatibility and outstanding technical properties.

LEINOS has been very successful in combining quality and ecology on the basis of natural raw materials. All LEINOS products are characterised by maximum compatibility.

Around 15,000 different chemicals are generally used in paint and varnish production, of which only a few are fully known. LEINOS products contain only about 150 raw materials. The effects on people and the environment are known and therefore manageable. Consequently, no long-term risks are to be expected in the extraction, manufacture, processing and extraction of raw materials.

The main ingredients of LEINOS products are: Vegetable drying oils, vegetable resins and waxes, beeswax, shellac, alcohol, mineral distillates, chalk, talcum, clay, natural latex, milk casein, finest lightfast earth and mineral pigments.

Linseed oil

Oils can make delicate items even more supple and fulfil many wishes. Drying oils are very durable and offer lasting resistance to all influences. We use clear linseed oil from the linseed plant without any other additives. This pure raw material is used as a film former for paints and varnishes with high resistance to weathering and ageing. So something for outdoors and indoors.

Clay

We have just the right thing to restore harmony when moisture levels fluctuate indoors. Naturally mined clay regulates the balance here and impresses with a naturally beautiful surface. It creates an ideal indoor climate and is therefore used in the production of our wall colour systems. Only selected clays and sands with a fine grain are used to create a harmonious atmosphere.

Beeswax

The bee and the flower, the symbol of love. This connection gives rise to an important raw material for our products: Beeswax. The honey bee uses it to build honeycombs for the egg-laying queen. We use it to refine and care for wooden surfaces. The natural, pleasantly scented beeswax is free from any chemical treatment.

Shellac

The Asian lacquer scale insect produces this transparent resin from the rubber sap of a fig tree. Shellac can form very dense films that can hardly be penetrated by other substances. We utilise this property to produce special barrier coatings. This means that toxic wood preservatives can no longer enter interior rooms.

Carnauba wax

We are particularly fond of carnauba wax because it is the hardest known plant wax and can therefore withstand an intruder very well. It comes from a Brazilian palm species, is very durable, extremely resilient and therefore particularly suitable for treating wooden surfaces. It does not contain any chemical additives.
