Countertop Oil (food-safe)

Oil

Oiled worktops require regular maintenance due to the heavy use of liquids and their chemical substances. Countertop Oil is therefore specially tailored to the requirements of kitchens.

Wooden kitchen worktops have to withstand a lot and can therefore lose their beauty over the years if they are not regularly maintained during daily use.

Our Countertop Oil serves as an impregnation and provides your wood with lasting protection against dirt and moisture and also has very good stain resistance to coffee, red wine, fruit juices etc. after treatment. Revitalising the wood structure also enhances the appearance of your worktop.

Of course, you can also use the oil indoors for other wooden surfaces and it is also ideal for furniture surfaces and children's toys, for example.

In the typical area of application of Countertop Oil, it is particularly important that it can also be used in direct contact with food and is therefore safe for health. For this reason, we have developed this product in such a way that it can be used carefree when used as intended.

Application is this simple

Substrate and preparation
The substrate must be dry (wood moisture content below 14 %), solid, absorbent, clean and free of resin and dust. Good final sanding with 240 grit.

Processing
Please stir carefully before use! Apply with a brush, cloth, roller or sponge at an ambient and surface temperature above 15 °C. After a penetration time of approx. 20-30 minutes, rub off or remove excess oil and polish the surface dry with a cloth or pad.

A. Untreated, absorbent substrate:
1. After a penetration time of approx. 20-30 minutes, any excess oil is expelled or removed from areas that are still absorbent and the surface is polished dry with a cloth or pad.
2. Apply another thin coat the next day and process as described above. If necessary, apply a 3rd coat depending on the absorbency of the substrate. Important: No oil layer must remain on the surface!

B. Renovation coating:
For maintenance and refreshing, re-oil the surface as described above. Sand grey surfaces that are already worn with fine sandpaper (240 grit) or a pad and re-oil. Re-oil heavily used surfaces monthly.

Carry out a preliminary test!

Drying time
Dry and recoatable after 18-24 hours (18-22 °C / 50-55 % relative humidity). Complete drying takes approx. 7-10 days. For reliable drying and to avoid odour formation, we always recommend using a fan to ensure sufficient air circulation on the surface of the paint during the drying phase.

Consumption
20-50 ml/m² depending on the absorbency of the substrate.
