Upgrading and embellishing esb panels
In the esb panels of the company elka-Holzwerke the majority of wood chips used are fresh wood chips from local conifers, most of which come from the company's own sawmill - without having to travel long distances.
That makes all the difference and many customers say you can smell it. You won't find any recycled wood of unknown origin in the boards.
Experience from 60 years of chipboard production has gone into the development of the esb, and that is what makes it so unique.
The high-quality esb boards from elka are therefore the sustainable alternative to OSB or classic chipboard and can even become a real eye-catcher with the right treatment. Our two products LEINOS Hardwax Oil and Hard Oil Universal are the perfect solution "perfect match".
Preparation: The esb plate from elka is a sanded product. Nevertheless, you should check the surface for damage and rough areas before painting and re-sand if necessary.
Processing: The products LEINOS Hardwax Oil 290 and LEINOS Hard Oil Universal 259 must be carefully shaken or stirred before use. Both products are ready to use.
In the first step, the Hardwax Oil applied thinly and evenly with a short pile sealer roller. In order not to lose the typical look of the esb boards and to emphasise the wood structure, the applied oil, which is still wet, should be sharply smoothed (removed) again and again with a steel spatula during application.
We then recommend using a fan for safe drying and to avoid odours. This ensures sufficient air circulation on the paint surface during the drying phase.
For a sophisticated, silky-matt look of the esb panel, it is possible to apply a finish with LEINOS Hard Oil Universal to be applied. Hard Oil Universal is simply applied thinly and evenly with a short pile sealer roller. The painted surface should again be dried with the aid of a fan.
Consumption: Approx. 50-70 ml/m² per coat.
With this coating structure, you have given your esb panel from elka not only given a beautiful new colour, but also ensured that it is better protected against external influences.
