Application is this simple

Substrate and preparation
Stir thoroughly before use. The substrate must be dry, free from dust and grease, moderately absorbent but sound, and free from release agents, cracks, efflorescence and mould. If necessary, treat the substrate with LEINOS Water-Based Deep Sealer 620 Prime the surface. If the substrate is highly alkaline, it must be neutralised beforehand. To achieve optimum wash resistance in accordance with DIN EN ISO 11998 and DIN EN 13300, Class 3, the substrate must not be absorbent when the final coat is applied.

Processing
Carry out a test coat! At room temperatures above 12 °C, apply with a roller, brush or airless sprayer. Can be tinted as required with LEINOS Pigment Concentrates.

New, untreated plaster and plasterboard surfaces:
These include, for example, gypsum, lime or cement plaster, plasterboard or gypsum fibreboard, or even concrete. To reduce their high absorbency, the aforementioned substrates must be LEINOS Water-based Deep Sealer Apply a primer. Then apply one or two coats of LEINOS White Emulsion Paint Plus, depending on the required coverage and the surface’s absorbency.

Old paint and wallpaper:
Existing emulsion paint finishes on plaster, plasterboard, etc. must adhere firmly and, like new, unpainted wallpaper, can be painted with LEINOS White Emulsion Paint Plus without the need for a primer. Old wallpaper that has already been painted once or several times with emulsion paint must also be checked for good adhesion and, if necessary, re-pasted. Heavily soiled old paint finishes should be cleaned. Distemper and flaking old paint finishes must be removed completely. Dense, barely absorbent surfaces, such as latex or gloss paint finishes, must be sanded down very thoroughly or leached. Generally speaking, no primer is required for existing, sound old paint finishes, unless the old paint needs to be removed completely.

Sprayability:
Approximate guidelines (not binding): Airless: nozzles 0.38–0.43 mm, spray angle approx. 30°–40°, filter approx. 100–50 mesh

TIPS & TRICKS:
Checking the adhesion: You can easily check the adhesion of an existing coat of paint by pressing a strip of masking tape onto the surface and pulling it away sharply. If no paint particles remain stuck to the tape, the existing coat is sound and ready to be painted over. If pieces of paint are torn off during this test, the existing coating must be removed completely.

Even surface finish: You can achieve an even surface texture by rolling out and spreading LEINOS White Emulsion Paint Plus quickly, and then always rolling it back in one direction only – for example, from top to bottom or vice versa. The shorter the pile of the roller, the finer your surface texture will be.

Drying time
At 20 °C and 50 per cent relative humidity, approx. 16–24 hours. This system requires sufficient amounts of atmospheric oxygen, a dry substrate and a relative humidity that is not too high in order to dry.

Consumption
Approx. 100–200 ml/m² per coat; this may vary depending on the absorbency of the substrate.

Shade
Natural white, matt. Can be tinted to any colour using LEINOS Pigment Concentrates 668.
