LEINOS Natural Resin Emulsion Paint is still the first choice for interiors: easy to apply, very economical and highly opaque. Do-it-yourself and professional painters alike appreciate this classic wall and ceiling paint, which can be easily applied to almost all surfaces.
Whether new or old plaster, wallpaper or soiled emulsion paints, LEINOS Natural Resin Emulsion Paint is compatible and creates a pleasant feeling in the room with its velvety matt surface and no annoying odours.
Substrate and preparation
Stir carefully before use. The substrate must be dry, free of dust and grease, moderately absorbent but stable, free of separating agents, cracks, efflorescence and fungi. If necessary, treat the substrate with LEINOS Deep Sealer 620 water-based prime. If the substrate reacts strongly alkaline, it must be neutralised beforehand. To achieve optimum wash resistance in accordance with DIN EN ISO 11998 and DIN EN 13300, class 3, the substrate must not be absorbent when applying the final coat.
Processing
Carry out a test coat! At room temperatures above 12 °C, apply with a roller, brush or airless device. Can be tinted with LEINOS Pigment Concentrates.
New, untreated plaster and drywall surfaces:
These are, for example, gypsum, lime or cement plaster, gypsum plasterboard, gypsum fibreboard or concrete. The aforementioned substrates must be treated to reduce the strong absorbency with LEINOS Water-based Deep Sealer must be primed. Then apply 1 to 2 coats of LEINOS Natural Resin Emulsion Paint, depending on coverage and absorbency.
Old paintwork and wallpaper:
Existing emulsion paints on plaster, plasterboard etc. must adhere firmly and can be painted with LEINOS Natural Resin Emulsion Paint without prior priming, just like new, unpainted wallpaper. Old wallpaper that has already been painted once or several times with emulsion paint must also be checked for good adhesion and re-coated if necessary. Heavily soiled old paintwork should be cleaned. Old coats of distemper and flaking paint must be completely removed. Dense, barely absorbent substrates such as latex or lacquer coatings must be sanded or leached very thoroughly. In general, no primer is required for existing, stable old coatings unless the old coating must be completely removed.
Sprayability:
Non-binding guide values: Airless: Nozzles 0.38-0.43 mm, spray angle approx. 30°-40°, filter approx. 100-50 meshes
TIPS & TRICKS:
Check the load-bearing capacity: The load-bearing capacity of an old coat of paint can be easily checked by pressing a masking tape onto the paint and pulling it off again with a jerk. If no pieces of paint stick to the tape, the old coating is solid and can be painted over. If parts of the paint are torn off in the process, the old coating must be completely removed.
Even surface: You can achieve an even surface texture by rolling and spreading the LEINOS Natural Resin Emulsion Paint quickly and then only rolling in one direction at a time - e.g. from top to bottom or vice versa. The shorter the nap of the roller, the finer your surface texture will be.
Drying time
At 20 °C and 50 % relative humidity approx. 16-24 hours. This system requires sufficient amounts of atmospheric oxygen, a dry substrate and a relative humidity that is not too high.
Consumption
Approx. 100-200 ml/m² per application, may vary depending on the absorbency of the substrate.
