Substrate and preparation
Plaster substrates that have not yet been painted, as well as gypsum plaster and plasterboard walls, should first be coated with LEINOS Silicate Primer 621 pre-treated. To equalise different absorbencies, e.g. filling and repair areas, pre-treatment with LEINOS 621 Silicate Primer also makes sense. Substrates with water-soluble, discolouring substances must be checked for suitability beforehand. If in doubt, apply a test coat. Please note that smooth substrates will become somewhat grainy with this primer.
Processing
The Silicate Paint can be easily applied by brush, roller or spraying after stirring. If necessary, dilute the first coat with max. 10 % water. Paint the final coat undiluted. After approx. 4 hours, the Silicate Paint can be recoated with Silicate Paint for a second coat.
Splashability:
After appropriate Thinner and sieving of the paint, LEINOS Silicate Paint 690 can be applied with an appropriate airless spraying device (non-binding information). Nozzle: 0.25 mm, without gun filters, 50° spray angle, spray pressure 100 bar.
Drying time
At 20 °C and 50 % relative humidity: Dust-dry after approx. 3 hours and can be painted over with LEINOS Silicate Paint 690 after approx. 4 hours. After 24 hours the Silicate Paint is fully cured and can be painted with LEINOS Silicate Primer 621 (diluted 1:3 to 1:5 with water) and the alkali-resistant LEINOS pigment concentrates 668glazed. Ensure good ventilation!
Consumption
1 litre is sufficient for 5-8 m² per coat, depending on the absorbency of the substrate. The consumption is approx. 150 ml/m².
