Substrate and preparation
The wood must be untreated, well sanded, clean and dry (max. 14 % wood moisture content). Always shake or stir Softwood Lye Clear well before and during application.
Processing
Apply with an alkali-resistant roller or brush evenly in the direction of the fibres. Immediately rework any dry spots until an even whitish layer forms on the surface.
Intermediate treatment:
To increase the effect, a second application of Softwood Lye Clear can be applied after drying (2-5 hours). After the last lye treatment has dried completely (at least 24 hours), sand the surface by hand or by machine with a beige or green pad or with 120-180 grit sandpaper and then vacuum. Caution! Excessive sanding reduces the bleaching effect! Always carry out preliminary tests! Do not apply at temperatures below 12 °C!
Final treatment:
Depending on the desired surface and resistance, leave as is or finish with LEINOS Wooden Floor Soap 924lEINOS oils or Floor- and Furniture Wax 310.
Drying time
Dust-dry after approx. 2-5 hours. Can be sanded and painted over after at least 24 hours. If the drying times are not adhered to, yellowish discolouration may occur in the wood. Ensure good ventilation.
Consumption
100-125 ml/m² or 8-10 m²/l, depending on the absorbency of the surface.
